Cruised many, many times on other lines and this was 4th time on X (Infinity, Solstice, Eclipse, and Reflection). Unless you can afford Crystal Cruises, Aqua Class on X is a pretty great 2nd, IMO. First time booking in Aqua Class, but now I'm ruined and won't ever settle for less in the future. Blu, the specialty dining restaurant exclusively for Aqua Class passengers is worth it by itself. The service was outstanding, the food fantastic, and the exclusive nature of the experience was precious. It seemed as though the ship was our own and we never saw/felt 3000 fellow cruisers the entire week. We ate in Blu most breakfasts, and 4 dinners, The other 3 dinners were at Qsine, Tuscan Grille, and The Lawn Club Grill. Qsine for us took 1st place with Tuscan 2nd and Lawn Club 3rd. Next time I think we'll do Qsine twice as there are so many choices it's impossible to try them all in one sitting. We'll skip The Lawn Club as spending $45 pp for a steak/chop/fish/skewers, etc in a VERY casual setting was clearly a waste. Tuscan was fantastic but Qsine better. Next time we'll probably try Murano. Other Aqua Class perks included amenities in the stateroom (aromatherapy, bottled water and fresh tea, robes, enhanced shower panel (awesome)), access to the Persian Gardens and Relaxation Room. The Persian Gardens was tremendous. Never a problem getting a tile lounger (heated) and it truly is a spa experience with Sauna, Hamman steam, ice room and aromatherapy sauna rooms + cool specialty showers, all in a quiet beautiful setting overlooking the port bow.

Embarkation: We arrived at the POM at 10:45am via car service. We checked our bags with the porter and off we went to the check-in process. Aqua Class passengers have a separate check-in line which had no waiting. We showed our passport and credit card, took our picture and off we went to a private waiting room until the ship was cleared. Once the all clear was given, we were the first to board (another nice AQ perk). We walked on to the ship, were handed a nice glass of champagne and off we went to The Porch on deck 14. Great outdoor dining venue with panninis, salads and soups ($5 pp cover charge). We relaxed there for 90 minutes enjoying a great lunch and the first of many cocktails. By the time we finished the announcement was made that the staterooms were now available for guests.

Stateroom: We had a hump cabin on the forward facing part of the hump, mid-ship, port side. Due to the angle, our balcony was 3x deeper than normal, and this was just perfect!. Bed was by the balcony which was great for listening to the ocean at night. We kept the door open almost every night. We had the pleasure of having Maria from Hondurus as our stateroom attendant. She was beyond outstanding and we went out of our way to make sure the Head of Housekeeping knew our thoughts. He already knew how great she is, but i'm sure the feedback was welcome. It was our anniversary during the week and one morning I mentioned that to Maria. That evening, upon returning to our stateroom, we found the bed covered in a bed of roses, animal creations from towels in the shape of a heart and a single rose in a bud vase (+ chocolates) and a sweet note from Maria. The look on my GF's face was priceless. Thanks so much again Maria!!!!!
