Ship Facts: Caribbean Princess Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Caribbean Princess Deck Plans
Our Princess Cruise.

This was our 3rd cruise. The 1st was on Holland America out of Fort Lauderdale to W. Caribbean. The 2nd was with family on Carnival out of Galveston, also to W. Caribbean.

We live in Houston so we wanted to take the Princess out of the new port. The port was easy to get to and had convenient parking. Because we had a suite we had priority boarding. It was easy for us.

The ship was nice. The crew was nice and accommodating. Our cabin steward was eager to please.

The food was a little disappointing. To me the buffet was not organized well. Main dishes here and there. Desserts here and there. You fill your plate only to come upon something at a different spot that you would've rather had. There was some very tasty food but overall the taste and quality was disappointing.

The Palm Dining room was lovely. The servers were very helpful. But once again the taste of the food was just so-so. The dining experience was on the dull side. Both HAL and Carnival had a more enjoyable atmosphere. I apologize for not knowing his title but there was a gentleman with a lovely voice that walked around the dining room and serenaded some nights. That was enjoyable. Sabatini Restaurant was good but I don't think you should have to pay extra for good food.

The entertainment was good. We looked forward to it each night.

The gastrointestinal virus broke out early on the cruise. We did not get sick nor did we see anyone that was sick. We felt that the ship did a good job cleaning and had sanitary precautions in place. The only thing I would've differently is have hand sanitizers available in more places other than eating areas and bathrooms. The elevators and outside the auditoriums are a couple of places that would be useful.

We had to return to port before we got to Belize because of a forecast of fog at the Texas Coast. This is something to consider when choosing to go out of Houston. Princess gave us 1 day credit. It could be taken off your bill or it had to be used on the ship. They also gave us a small future cruise credit.

Even though the trip wasn't perfect, it is what you make of it. We chose to make the best of it by joining in activities and relaxing in the sun.

Once again we had an easy priority disembarkation.

Since we'd sailed with HAL and Carnival our travel agent told us that Princess was probably ranked in between the two. Overall, we didn't think it was as good as the Carnival we sailed on.
