It was a cruise, so I had a great time!! This was my first time cruising with Carnival and you can see the obvious differences between Carnival and the other cruise lines. However, if you are just looking to spend time with friends/family in the sun for seven days and don't need all the frills then the Carnival Conquest is a great option.

The lido deck buffet was much better than I expected. The service at the other dining areas was so-so. I expected much more from the main dining room for both food and service. The Point Steakhouse was hit and miss.....The main course was great, though it could have been hotter. The appetizer and desserts were meh.

The ship's public areas were kept very clean as was our stateroom. Kudos to the entire housekeeping department.

Cabin Review

The cabin was all that we would ever need. I wish the window had been washed recently, but no big deal. It did shake pretty good when the Captain got the speed up to 19 knots. The cabin was clean and the bed must have been newer because it was quite comfy. Plenty of closet space....but we are extremely light packers.
