I've been on Princess and Royal Caribbean... this was my 4th with Carnival....

I gotta say I was really worried when reading all of the reviews, but I went in with an open mind and really had a great time just like all the other previous cruises I've been on.

First, the ship itself is absolutely beautiful (no water buckets or sewage issues like previously mentioned in other reeviews). The serenity deck is amazing, but you have to get out on the decks early if you want a seat. There were only 2 elevators that went to the serenity decks, but one was out the entire cruise and the other took about 10 minutes to catch. The waterworks section was AWESOME, although 1 of the 3 slides wasn't working the whole cruise. The Mezzanine area was kind of awkward how it was just a hall way that led to random places like the piano bar, sushi restaurant and steak restaurant and eventually the limelight lounge (which was way too small for the amount of people on board-- have to arrive at least an hour early to get a seat). The ocean plaza area with the taste bar, alchemy bar, and red frog pub was a great area to be at. the Red Frog Pub was a great addition and hang out spot with the live music, shuffle board, fooze ball table, and darts board. The liquid lounge was also too small for the amount of people on board. They do offer 2 show times though. It was I guess okay that it doubled as the night club later at night. Was really frustrating that is closed at 2:30AM... if you're a night owl like my friends and I, then there was literally nothing to do after the club closed except go to the casino or eat at the pizzeria or lounge on the decks. If you aren't into the club scene and you are a night owl then there isn't anything to do after about 10:30 unless what I previously mentioned. Read more
