Our first time on Azamara - but not new to cruising. We had heard good things about this cruise line and it lived up to our hopes. From the check in process to disembarkation it was well-organized and easy. Our verandah cabin was beautifully maintained and when we had a drawer sliding and banging one night it was fixed the next morning along with a replacement light bulb we didn't even know was out.
Cabin was comfortable with plenty of storage. Yes the bathroom is teeny - but certainly sufficient and lots of room for odds and ends. Cabin itself was well-maintained. Love the verandah furniture - large table to actually dine on and a couple of comfy chairs.
We found the crew helpful and friendly and was very impressed that the senior staff including the captain and hotel manager were friendly and approachable and were always ensuring the guests had what they needed.
We loved the choice of dining venues - both casual and more formal. And thought the food was very good. Prime C and Aqualina were well worth the $25 pp fee. But loved the informality of dress - elegantly casual and everyone looked comfortable and appropriate. With the current drinks policy it means being able to get a soft drink, wine or cocktail almost anytime without having to show your card - love it.
There were plenty of places to sit an enjoy a quiet spot to read or relax. We bought passes to the Thelassotherapy spa area and thought the experience was well worth the cost. Few people and a lovely quiet area of the ship. Having sailed on Silversea several times and Oceania we were anxious to see how Azamara would fare compared to these 2 cruise lines - and I have to say it compared very well. Not quite the personal service of Silversea, and we preferred Azamara to Oceania.
We have already booked another trip and if they continue in offering a quality cruise at a competitive price we will be sailing with them regularly.
