Ship Facts: Celebrity Eclipse Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Celebrity Eclipse Deck Plans
Wonderful time

We arrived at FLL on the day of the cruise. Although there were huge crowds, we got a taxi to the ship quickly. The taxi driver was a con artist. He drove the long way from the airport to the ship. Having done this trip recently, I knew the route. We ended up paying $20 for a ride which should cost about $13.

Embarkation was crowded. However, there were lots of people to help direct you to the right location. We arrived at noon. We were on the ship quickly. Rooms were not ready yet. Went to the OceanView buffet for lunch. It was crowded with people waiting to go to their cabins. By the time we finished lunch, the cabins were ready. Our cabin was 6268 on deck 6 aft. Nice cabin with a small obstruction. Mostly quiet except for a few nights when there was loud music in the Ensemble Lounge. It ended at midnight. Since I usually do not go to sleep early, it wasn't a problem for me. The people in 6266 complained and moved cabins. Our cabin steward was friendly and efficient. After a few days, he knew our schedule. When we returned from breakfast or dinner, our cabin was cleaned.

We opted for Select dining. We met other people seated next to us that we liked. Reserved the table for the 6 of us for the entire cruise. Had the best time. Having been to all of the ports on this cruise, we did not find the need to take lots of excursions. We took the catamaran ride in St. Lucia to the Pitons. It was a nice tour with a short stop for swimming. In most places, we walking in town or went to the beach. Entertainment was not the highlight of this cruise. There was a singer and a juggler that were good. Fushion band was excellent. Perry Grant was obnoxious and rude. I do not know what people see in him. Enjoyed time at the pools. Loved Al Bacio. Try an Igloo. Elite events were too crowded.

What impressed me most was the friendly staff, sparkling clean public spaces, and the quality of the MDR food. Buffet area is weird. Often had to search out where they put things. I was also happy to find a ship that was able to fix problems quickly. Disembarkation was strange. They got us off the ship quickly only to wait inside the terminal for our luggage. Once we got our luggage we went through customs/immigration quickly and got a taxi back to FLL. The airport on Saturday morning was a zoo. Crowded everywhere. Allow lots of time to check bags, go through security, etc. We enjoyed the cruise. Booked on the same cruise next year.
