Fantastic January Cruise on the Brilliance of the Seas!

Sail Date: January 2014
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Tampa

We cruised with a group of 50 on The Brilliance of the Seas in January 2014. Everything was very quick on Embarkation. The staff in Tampa knows how to move everyone very quickly and efficiently. If possible order your Beverage Package before you board, it will make life a bit easier. Rooms were ready by 1:00pm so very little waiting around prior to getting into the room.

DINING: The Windjammer Buffett was your run-of-the-mill buffett. It had a wide selection but food was Shoney's buffett quality, which doesn't mean that I think its bad just average! I think breakfast is where the best value is at the Windjammer.

The Main Dining Room food is very good and tasty! The variety and themed menus are great! The wait staff for us was AWESOME!! Dave and Ashvin were awesome. The wait staff really took care of the kids and made sure that they were fed first! They even cut the kids food so that we could enjoy our food.

Make sure and at least get the Soft Drink Package More as access to beverages is slim without it! There is 24 hour coffee service at the Windjammer. Also, Room Service is available 24 hours, but who wants to call room service for Lemonade.

ACTIVITIES: It was January so the outdoor pool was too cold but the indoor pool was warm BUT kids were not allowed in it. Every activity like the workout facility, basketball court and putt-putt course was clean and well maintained. The pool deck area had dancing and other fun activities during the days that we were at sea. I felt like there could have been more activities.

ENTERTAINMENT: The Headliner Show was good. They had Marcus Terrell who was on America's Got Talent one night, a random comedian one night and their stage show another night. While it was good, they could kick the entertainment up a notch.

STORES: I wish they had more of a "general" store on the boat but if you like duty free I guess you will love the shopping.

EXCURSIONS: If you buy excursions on the boat you are throwing away money. Book them on your own!

Overall, you will love the Brilliance of the Seas. Its is an UPDATED ship and is the perfect sized ship with an Incredible Staff. Less

Cabin review: Brilliance of the Seas 5056

Our Stateroom was great with plenty of room (by cruiseship standards). Having lots of suitcase storage under the bed was awesome. There is actually a good bit of storage and the bed is very comfortable. The sofa bed is also very comfortable. The balcony is huge and was great to have to add extra space for our 4 year old. The Flat Screen TV was nice, just wish they had Fox News. Location on Boat is perfect right in the middle and was quiet.
