Sapphire Princess Cruise Review by Busters Dad: 4 Night California Coastal Cruise
Overall Member Rating
4 Night California Coastal Cruise
Destination: Mexican Riviera
Embarkation: Los Angeles
Short cruise Coastal California to Ensenada
Food was as expected, somewhat better than Royal Carribbean, more choices especially at breakfast
Hated German Night in the Buffet, so did our friends, have no idea why on earth they offer that
The hot dogs and pizza were always a saving grace...very well done
Absolutely hated the beds...hard as a rock...even after asking for extra padding
But we still did have a nice cruise overall
Casino staff was disengaged. Did the slot tournament which was like a poorly planned fire drill. It was so much better planned on the Golden to Hawaii...like night and day
Wait staff was always friendly and provided great service
Major plus was we got to take the cost of the cruise off on a future cruise in 2014...so kinda like free...everyone loves free...so we are going to do an Alaska cruise later in the year.
We like Princess...we do smoke and dislike the smoking policy...they More were also very strict on bringing alcohol on board...this was a total contradiction to the Hawaii cruise...maybe cause its so short.
Bathrooms are so very hard to find on board, poorly marked, generally clean through once you can find one.
We were very surprised to do so well in the casino. We both like slots...basically played one machine the whole time...was up 400 the first night...then won a 500. DW won multiple 250 on her machine...so we were happy. Less

Room was ok...at aft of ship...part of balcony looked forward and down on all the others below and to the side of ours. Nice....but the beds...like rocks...wished the ship had rocked more to put us to sleep...NO PADDING!
