We had a wonderful cruise on the Silver Wind - from Venice to Rome, passing by Pula, Zadar, Dubrovnik, Kotor, Messina and Sorrento. The sailing was smooth, the staff very efficient and hospitable and the food and unlimited beverages were top quality. The ship guest lecturer was very highly knowledgeable and his talks were always very interesting. The cooking demonstration and the wine tasting were great pass-the- time activities.

The gym could stand some renovation as the machines were few and old.

The cabin was comfortable but small. It would be difficult to have a meal in the room as the space was too tight. The verandah was small but sufficient for light snacks and refreshments. The bed mattresses were wonderful, firm but conducive to a restful sleep. It was nice to discover, courtesy of the room staff, that under the bed, there was space enough to be able to store the suitcases. The dressing room was very spacious but with suitcases, it might have been a tight fit. I found the comfort room a bit too tiny for easy maneuvering.

Disembarkation in the different ports was very well handled....they gave out water bottles as well as umbrellas and in some ports, they had a shed with refreshments for those waiting for the tender.

The only negative I found on this particular cruise was the shore excursion in Pula. We chose a truffle dinner experience and it was an excursion that was not worth its high cost. The journey to the rural farmhouse/restaurant in Pula - Stefanici Farm - and back to the ship took too much time for a very mediocre dinner. The quality of the food offered was very way below the quality that Silver Wind serves. The write up about what is offered in this supposed truffle experience is not truthful....hardly any truffle or just a hint of it, no fresh fruits as advertised. It was just a simple meal with some traditional music. The musicians were so loud that we asked them to stop playing and leave us in peace. We later took pity on them and asked them to play after dinner. On the way, all in our group chose to sleep rather than listen to the noisy tour guide who went on and on despite!

All told, this was a very pleasant and comfortable cruise
