We had the joy of doing our first Celebrity cruise in November and are completely sold on this line.
Excellent service and they're there without announcing it. Noticed immediately the lack of ridiculous announcements like "BINGO" or "Art auction in fifteen minutes" etc etc.
One of the sad facts of other cruiselines is the constant barragement of nothingness over the loud speaker and we really appreciated the lack of them on Celebrity.
If we want bingo or art auction we can figure out our schedule without the constant barrage of silliness.
The ship was lovely, nothing bad to say about it, we loved it from minute one.
Aquaclass was perfect, esp the private restaurant "Blu" which was superb, worth the upcost of an aquaclass cabin. The negative is the overhang of the deck ten so while it was nice during the rain we had in Puerto Rico it did keep the breezes from happening (the warmest aka hottest balcony we've ever had) so that was a negative.
Also, a big negative were the smokers on either side of us. Celebrity is a non-smoking in the balconies ship and it was totally ignored. We complained to the desk and while we had plenty of 'so sorry' it never stopped either side of the smokefest...major negative and SMOKERS, read up, you don't have the right to blow our balcony time with your cancer sticks, go up to the allowed deck and share your bad air with others of your ilk, not your neighbors. Major negative and it was one of the perks of Celebrity but considering how little was done to enforce it really doesn't matter if this is an incentive, it just isn't enforced.
Celebrity earned our business and we will be back...nicer atmosphere (perhaps because its a more upscale crowd) and the food was quite delicious, both buffets and Blu (we never ate at the main dining room so no reviews there) so we can highly recommend both Celebrity and this lovely ship, Summit.
