We went on a Disney cruise back on 9/15/13. Our experience was a 4 night out of the Bahamas with a 1-Bedroom Concierge room. We were traveling with my sister, her husband, and her 2 kids, my Mother and my Girlfriend. We had 2 rooms.
Of all the vacations we have been on, this has got to be the most overpriced of all the trips. A lot of hype, very low reward. There was no Casino, no Smoking Bars, no fun parties, nothing really. Don't expect a cruise that targets everyone. This is only for kids. We spent roughly $9k said and done on a 4 night Bahamas cruise for 7 of us. That is $321 a day, and we didn't even have a butler like on other boats. To give you an idea the Norwegian Epic, in the Haven, in a 2 Bedroom, and a 1 Bedroom suite per night is $234 a night, with unlimited booze and restaurants (for the adults) it is $285 a night, and that includes an extra bedroom, Butlers, Concierge, food choices (better food too), a private pool, private made to order dining room, and private sundeck. Even Crystal and Regent are cheaper than these people, and we went to Russia. Our experience was below par, on all nights, we had to send our food back to the kitchen (they had serious issues with temperature). This is the first time out of nearly 20 cruises I removed the gratuity for the restaurant staff, they were simply that bad. Being in a concierge level suite, we expected to have the best seats for everything as on other cruise lines. The shows, dinner everything. When we went to dinner we were in the center of the room especially in the interactive dining room. The only memorable experience we had was at the cabanas. The cabanas however were a great experience, with the exception of not being able to take the golf cart all the way, even in the pouring rain. Only after fighting with them did they agree to take us all the way back to the ship instead of making us transfer. Some of the concierge staff were rude, some were very nice. Fireworks were ok. Kids club was a little underwhelming for Niece and Nephew, expecting things above and beyond other cruise lines. Room was nice, but not over the top (NCL has multi-jet showers with glass against the ocean).
Would we take Disney again? No.
