Background: This is our 4th NCL cruise, 2x Epic and POA. We traveled with our 20 something kids and had a balcony and 2 inside rooms. We precruise we stayed at Drury Inn, which I would highly recommend.
The rooms were large, included a decent breakfast, and snack and drink from 5:30-7 PM. It was conveniently located near the french quarter. We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel which was $74 before tip for 5 passengers. To the port from the hotel it was $35.00 (for a 5 minute ride!)
Embarkation: arrived at terminal before 11 am and was on the ship by 11:30.
Ship: We went straight to the spa, to sign for the week package ($150) It was nothing compared to the spa on the Epic, but was a great sanctuary, to be in a quiet area, especially since it was a little on the cold side during the cruise. We went to eat lunch at The Tzar palace, which was a beautiful dining room, and good.
Since we weren't able to sign up for the excursion in Rhoatan on line because it was filled, we went to the excursion desk and were able to get on the Maya Key excursion, just at a later time and for $10.00 more than if we were able to sign up on line.
We went to our room about 1:00 and it was very well layed out. there were plenty of room for our things.
There is some wear and tear on the ship. There was a rip in the bed skirt and the mirrors had fingermarks on them and the room was very dusty.
Gym area was good, and was always able to find a treadmill, etc.
Staff: We had a great experience, all were courteous, friendly and loved the Washy people in the dining room.
Entertainment: For a small size ship, entertainment was pretty good. Our favorites were Band on the run. Dancers and singers were top notch. We also liked the ventriloquist.
Disembarkation: did walk off and it was very easy
