Loved the Legend! Great Holiday Southern Caribbean Cruise

Sail Date: December 2013
Destination: Southern Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

We recently enjoyed a wonderful 11 day holiday cruise to the southern caribbean on the Legend of the Seas.

We found the crew and staff to be very attentive and very engaged with the guests. The entertainment was very good overall. There were 2 nights that we more 50's music oriented, that didn't really appeal to us - but others seemed to enjoy greatly. So there was something for everyone. The arial shows in the Centrum were absolutely amazing, really really great. The cruise director Keith and the activities director Gio and their staff really do a great job.

Food in main dining room was awesome. Our wait staff of Svitlana (Sweet Lana as she called herself) and Sabri were really wonderful. Svitlana's dinner recommendations were usually spot on and she brought us samples of the desserts each night and had us guess which was which and sample before we decided. We ate at the Windjammer for breakfast and lunch and also enjoyed the Park Cafe. the food at both was very More good.

We had an inside cabin on deck 3 and our room attendant Dion was wonderful, we had towel animals almost every night, and our room was always cleaned quickly.

While the Legend is a smaller ship, for us it was like an old friend. We have only ever cruised on RCCL's vision class ships so this was very comfortable and we felt right at home. We did find a great hidden deck on the back of the ship on deck 9 which not many folks knew was there. great quiet deck for reading. you could get sun or shade depending on your preference.

We picked this cruise as it was a holiday vacation for a group of 14 of us, so we knew we wanted a christmas/New Years cruise. We selected this particular cruise based on the ports. We had never done the Southern Caribbean before, so the port selection was a driving factor.

As far as Ports we enjoyed all of them, Aruba, Bonaire, Grenada, Barbados, Antigua and St. Maarten. Our favorites were probably Bonaire, Grenada and Antigua. Bonaire is a wonderful laid back island with great snorkeling and a wonderful port area with great little shops. In Bonaire we enjoyed the semi-sub Aquaspace tour. Ed and Babbette were amazing tour guides and the snorkeling was wonderful. Grenada is very colorful and beautiful, we really enjoyed the walk up to the fort that is at the port and got some great views of the island. Antigua is beautiful, we did the Best of Antigua tour and saw some of the most beautiful scenic views imaginable. We enjoyed all of the ports and would definitely do this itinerary again.

Overall the Legend is a great ship, yes she may be smaller and older, but we felt she was in great shape. The crew was great and we were really happy with our experience. This was our 4th cruise all on RCCL ships and were were very happy with the experience. We have had inside cabins before as well as balcony cabins, so having an inside cabin was no big deal we were only there at night to sleep.

The Legend is a great ship and a greta value with a wonderful staff. We would definitely cruise her again. Less
