We sailed on Jan 11 2014- Jan 18 2014 from Honolulu. I am writing this review on Jan 20 when it’s still fresh in my mind. We are a married couple in our early 30's, first time on cruise and also to Hawaii.
Check-in on First day- GOOD
Checked in around 1 pm and there was a huge line. Waited for almost an hour to get our room keys and complete other formalities.
Stateroom Cabin – GOOD
stayed in inside cabin with no window. The room was very clean, well organized. Enough space to store your clothes and stuff. Bathroom was bit smaller but manageable.
Food – Disappointed
Overall -Food was salty and inferior in quality. We are vegetarians hence we did not find many vege options. Complimentary restaurants- We tried all of them. Small portions, test less food, almost same items(veg and non-veg) every day.
Aloha Café - Breakfast is continental. Same menu every day. Only thing we liked is you can make your own customized Omelet by order. Bakery items are not fresh.
Lunch and Dinner- Pretty much same menu with slight variations. Test less, greasy and low quality.
Desserts - We really enjoyed all the different cakes and chocolate fountain. Good quality.
Fruits – They served watermelon, honeydew, apples, grapes, bananas every day. Being in Hawaii, we were expecting some papayas and mangoes to enjoy but they were nowhere to be found. You are not missing anything here.
Salad Bar- 4-5 items to make your own salad. Repeating again inferior quality
Coffee and drinks – fair enough
Entertainment- Bored to death
We had around 2000 people on board. Most entertainment shows were intended to attract older crowds. This happened every night. We were bored on the ship. They have good bars to enjoy some cocktails but that was it. Not many places to hang out except poolside and open deck at the back of ship where we spent our most time.
Housekeeper - Nice, polite and accommodating. NCL charges $12 per person everyday in your account for gratuity. NCL was also encouraging to leave additional tips for the staff We did left some extra tip for our housekeeper. Guest Service Staff – Rude, judgmental. Oh Man! they do not like to be there to answer your questions. All other staff was polite, friendly and cheerful.
Port Consultant – Hardly knowledgeable. She was redirecting us to inquire about specific questions to other staff members.
