We were first time cruisers, so we don't have any others to compare it to, but we had a wonderful time. We flew to San Juan on FF miles the day before the cruise left, since we didn't want to risk missing the cruise due to our unpredictable weather. On embarkation day, we went over to the port and from arrival to walking on the ship was only 10 minutes...couldn't have been smoother. We had done internet check in and that made it go so much faster. Once on the ship, we walked around and got our bearings and had a light lunch in the Windjammer, which was nice. We thought the ship was beautiful and everyone was very friendly on that first day.

Food: We thought the food was excellent. We ate breakfast in the Windjammer and it was good buffet food. The pineapple was great and the omelets, made to order were very good. Most of the days we ate lunch "out" as we were on excursions or just going around the islands. Dinners were in Reflections and the food was deliciously prepared, lots of variety, and nicely presented. Our favorites were the lobster, prime rib, and the filet. The midnight buffets were beautiful with the pretty presentation and the ice sculptures, but we were too full to eat anymore food at that time. Our waiters were fantastic and catered to our every whim.

Excursions: We didn't set up any through the ship, but rather found our own on the piers and this worked good for us. We did many of the same things and it was a little more spontaneous, as far as changing itineraries, depending what the people wanted. The ports were all beautiful. On St. Thomas we went shopping and went on an Island tour that included 2 hours on the beach. St Maarten, pretty much the same. On Barbados, we went to the Boatyard and toured Mount Gay Rum Distillery. We loved Barbados beaches. St Lucia--a boat tour to a fishing village, Pitons, drive-in volcano and sulfur fields and mineral waterfall (the boat let us off and we went to these by taxi, which was included), and then finished with a pretty beach for 2 hours again. That day was pretty much all day. On Antigua, we did a taxi tour of the island and found out a lot of the history and then went to the beach. As you can tell, we really liked going to the beaches and they were all so beautiful.
