This was our 5th cruise, 3rd with Celebrity. We have enjoyed Celebrity in the past and booked this cruise with them because of the excellent service we have had with them. We chose the Silhouette because this was one of the newer class ships.
We booked a concierge class cabin and expected the superior service we had received the past 2 times in this class. It seems with this size ship, they have cut back some of the small things that made us feel special. Although the cabin stewards did a good job of servicing our room twice a day, we were missing some of the special attention and little things like animal towels each night. We received letters welcoming us to the cruise the first day, but they were for the wrong name and cabin.
The additional restaurants on ship looked nice, but they all had a surcharge that was too expensive to enjoy ($35-$45 per person) for our group of 15. The main dining room food was very good each night and our waitress went out of her way to take care of us. The seating and the restaurant manager were another thing. They were inattentive and seem not to care about us. We asked to speak to them and they would not even respond until the 3rd nights dinner. They not only ignored us, but another group wanted our larger table and were given it. We ended up around a smaller table with smaller chairs just to squeeze us in. I could not believe they way we were treated by the employees of Celebrity. It seems they cannot accommodate a group bigger than 12 people. I suggest that if you want to take a big group with you on a cruise, you find a cruise line that will accommodate you. We made our reservation for 15 people (using 7 cabins) almost a year in advance and they seemed to care less about our group. This was very upsetting.
Room was nice. Bathroom had a much better set up than past ships.
