We just got back from a 7 night cruise on the Freedom of the Seas. The ship is beautiful and they keep it so clean. We really enjoyed the entertainment, the ice show was spectular, the singers and dancers in the shows were excellent, the magician was awesome and we enjoyed the male commedian, the female puerto rican comedian was OK. The food was great, the midnight buffet was a little skimpy from the cruises we have been on in the past. The afternoon food fest was really delicious. I liked the idea in the Windjammer for breakfast, when you go to get an omlet they give you a number and you can go and get the rest of your food then go back and pick up your eggs/omlet, instead of having to wait in a line until it is prepared for you. There is so much to do and some things you would like to see overlap with other shows/activities. I do miss the coupon books, the company is going green so they put your perks on your seapass card, but because you don't have the coupon in your hand you forget to use them. The ice cream machine (Sprinkles) is so popular but on the Freedom it is on the pool deck right in the middle of the walkway and there are 2 sides, however, only 1 side was working for most of the cruise and there was always a long, long line. Just a suggestion, RC should put one machine on each end of the pool deck and leave them open longer than from 11:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Also there is a confusion with the levels of crown and anchor - when you sail once you are a gold member, but you get a gold sea pass card when you are a diamond member, RC should have the sea pass color match the level of crown and anchor you are. One major downside, is after you get back from a wonderful cruise, you get out to the transportation area and there was no designated signs for the rental car vans, people were jumping lines and when the vans pulled in even though there was a line, the van would park in a spot away from where the line was forming and people in the back of the line rush to get to the vans, they should really have a designated line for each of the car rental agencies and people should take a number so when the van arrives the person with the next number gets to the van first. RC does a fantastic job and we are looking forward to our next cruise!
