I have cruised with many different cruise lines and this was my second Thomson cruise, having done the same itinerary in April on Thomson Majesty. I went with my friend (2 ladies in our late 40’s). The reason we booked with Thomson again was that the staff, service and entertainment were absolutely brilliant last time and we were looking forward to the same thing again. Unfortunately it was sadly lacking. There were no drinks menus to be found anywhere on ship and on the first night when we requested a menu the waitress said I'll have to see if I can find one. How are you supposed to know what drinks are available without one? The drinks service was really slow and more often than not we had to go to the bar to get a drink and then the staff seemed to ignore you for a while before serving. The same applied to the Meridian Restaurant, waiting an hour between courses one night and had to get up and ask one of the waiters where our food was. Food was just OK and not to the standard More
of the Majesty. We had an inside cabin, which was nice and clean and our Cabin Boy, Syam, could not do enough for us and we were well looked after in that respect. Entertainment was good although it could be difficult to find a seat in the theatre. All in all we had a great time and met lots of nice people but it could have been even better had the service been upto the standard we expected.. Don’t know whether Thomson have cut their staff numbers hence the lack of service, but if this is the case they genuinely need to sort it as the majority of the people we spoke to on the ship had major issues with this.
