Sail Date: Dec 2013

We arrived on sunday 29/12/2013 for our new year cruise 3 couples all friends and we have all cruised before. The food on the ship was not what I expected from thomsons having been on 2 other of there fleet as well as the departed ocean village. You could find something to eat but tobe fair it was really boring, breakfast was a good English with plenty of fruit and cereals but no bananas for some reason this was rather taboo.lunch was again a mixture of salads fish and pie and meat from the carvery or you could have burgers pizza and hotdogs and chips. The puddings were rather poor and in short supply of selection.Dinner was roughly the same as lunch. The late night buffet was not late night as it closed at 1 am and breakfast was at 6am you could get food delivered to your cabin after 1am for a charge.

I don't know where Thomson spent the money on upgrading to platinum but I didn't think it was any better then previous cruise we had been on.They do need to improve there service or they will be loosing a lot of customers.Go back to basics.right that's the moaning done ( I think)We had a great cruise itinery was very good all ports were excellent. The cabin staff and bar staff were very good,The entertainment was rather plain and never special it seem to be all about quizzes and repeated the 2nd week,The ships entertainment crew were very friendly and did a good job and got people into the swing of things.Overall I think all of us enjoyed our cruise but expected better for a new year party cruise.

The worst part of our holiday was our flight home *8hours only 1 meal and 1 drink served never saw any cabin crew to ask why we didn't get breakfast until we started to descend. The excuse was no food had been loaded on to the plane in the uk and if they (cabin crew) had to prepare sandwiches it would have delayed our flight by 3 hours(smell the bullshit) when I asked why we had been informed he couldn't even make up a decent excuse,I asked for a drink of tea which he brought me then other guest wanted water to drink he was now panicking as other passengers started asking question. No rubbish was collected ,THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST FLIGHT I BEEN ON IT WAS NOT EVEN LOWCOST STANDARD VERY POOR Flight was tom587 east midlands 12/01/14(people who met us on this cruise will know who we are we were dressed as pirates for new year eve fancy dress party people shouldn't be put off cruising by reading this review but Thomson dream does need to take note so do the shareholders. don't get left behind other cruiselines ref 386/40146

Cabin Review

Cabin DE

cabin was ok but not spacious, could do with bedside draws. There are some there but are locked or turned round;deck 7 was a good deck one deck down from deck 8(obviously) where most of the entertainment and reception.library and casino are.
