The ship is gorgeous! The atrium/piazza area is striking, many "sit and watch" areas, lots of food and drink choices. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed, as expected from Princess. The crew, as well, were gracious and attentive; it did seem, however, that the dining rooms were short-staffed and a little more rushed than on previous cruises and not nearly as much fun. Maybe need to look at staffing? The pool areas were lovely, but no one seemed to pay attention to the "towel holding" of the chaise lounges -- it was hard to find a seat! The movies at night and the fountain show were both spectacular!
Lovely cabin, as always; we were upgraded to a balcony room, which was a treat for us. Bed was really comfortable. The balcony was really small, hard even for two people to both sit out there; sitting on one chair with feet on the other seemed to be the optimum use of the space. The toilet paper holder is in a bizarre place, very hard to reach. Otherwise, the room was a delightful as always!
However, it appears that some public areas have suffered for the large, expansive atrium. The entertainment venues seem smaller, the public-area restrooms are quite small, and we really missed the Explorers Lounge. There was no lounging area either fore or aft where one could sit inside and watch outside. The library was very small. We missed the Promenade Deck; the jogging track is up top and was very windy, even on a calm, beautiful day. And the balconies are teeny-tiny, as we all know by now.
All in all, the ship is lovely, the crew wonderful as always, and we still love Princess Cruises!
