this is a mixed review, so i'd prefer to start with the positives. first, we met great people. from the folks we corresponded with on the rollcall on this website, to the people on the boat and some of the staffers, it was a wonderful and genuinely good time of fellowship and getting to know one another. we also met what appears to be clearly our new (now) lifelong friends, a couple from toronto whom we met in roma termini whilst the train was delayed and whom we connected again and travelled everywhere with beginning from kotor till we departed once again in roma termini.
the best part of this cruise on the boat were the shows. the cruise director or celebrity really did get some entertainment across to us. other than the food, it was the only thing we looked forward to daily. now the food. the main dining hall is a little bit of a mess. celebrity needs to sort its serving staff out. we had open dining and our canadian friends had fixed seating. naturally we wanted to dine together but for some strange reason, this was an initial issue for the maitre'd, which was not the most pleasant of experiences for our canadian friends because the feeling was that they were intruding on the open dining hall, or that they were from a different class. it may not be that case, but they were certainly made to feel that way, and that's not a good experience.
oh, and kids club -- we had a 7 year old with us -- was excellent for her. the staff were totally awesome and made the cruise one to remember for our daughter. i can't thank them enough for the great experience.
disembarkation was a nightmare. they make it easy for you to get on board but totally destroy the part when you leave the ship. this is quite silly and ruins the experience.
