Sail Date: Dec 2013

We were on the New Year's sailing on the Summit and our opinion of the Summit is almost identical to the Christmas cruise review posted by rkj082000.

We did this cruise without the kids for a change looking for a little more upscale cruise. We had read lots about how the food and service was superior to Royal Caribbean, so we looked forward to trying Celebrity for the first time. We were excited about the ports as well since they were different than the ones we had experienced before leaving from Florida.

Cabin Review

Incredible cabin. The cabin was added in the Solsticization of the ship in 2012. Therefore, it is newer than the other cabins on board. The window is HUGE and takes up almost the entire wall. It is twice the diameter of other windows, and therefore 4 times as large in area. Beautiful. The mattress is brand new and so comfortable. These series of room are actually cheaper than oceanview cabins on higher decks, which is silly since these are far better in my opinion. 3112 has a slightly different configuration with an extra entrance area when entering the cabin, so it is slightly larger than the other cabins in this hallway. The cabin is centrally located steps from the excursion desk and the purser's desk. Right by the centre staircase and elevators. The hallway is very quiet. There are a set of mens and ladies pubic washrooms that are barely ever used right around the corner from the room. This is handy if someone is in the bathroom in your cabin. There is a funky plastic set of yellow and red chairs located at the bottom of the stairs right by the entrance to the hallway to the room. This makes it very simple to locate if you tend to get lost on a ship. Simply my favourite cabin I have ever had thus far. (Great cabin stewards to boot, but there is no guarantee that they will still be serving these rooms at a later date.)
