Fun cruise on Epic. But not without a few hiccups.

Just got home from a 7 night Caribbean on Epic. A few thoughts while it is fresh in my mind. First things first, I just don't get all the whining. Was the cruise perfect? No. Was it fun? Absolutely. Room for improvement? Absolutely. Some people have expectations that are just not realistic. This is a large boat and of course there will be some inconsistencies in service etc. But for less than $100 per night I think you need to temper expectations.

Embarkation/Disembarkation - This was a little frustrating as there were long lines and communication could have been better. Public announcements were made that were barely legible. But all in all I was on and off the boat fairly quickly.

Cabin - I booked a studio room for one and was quite impressed. The room is smaller than a standard inside but well laid out. Carpets and linens starting to show age. The lounge area was great with the bar, food and coffee machine. The person in charge of working with the solo cruisers was okay. Some very nice people. I did seem to notice that the solo cabins have been used by families looking for a room for a parent or adult aged kids. They also seem to be quite popular in the gay community.

Cabin Review

Studios are great cabins for solo travellers. I was a little concerned with an inside but it was fine. Shower is a little tight. The lounge was great to have a coffee machine, bar and food close at hand.
