Sail Date: Dec 2013

This was our first cruise so expectations were mixed. The ship was well maintained comfortable with a conservative polished wood type Décor. The service was excellent with high visibility from crew and staff, the cheerful Captain was seen at least once a day. The food in all restaurant areas was of high quality with a varied menu. The two specialty restaurants were exceptional. The stateroom was comfortable with adequate storage space. The complementary drinks list was diverse but could have included a champagne. The booking in, movement on and off the ship in port and exiting off were well managed. Entertainment was overall good some of the main features were a little old hat but enjoyable. The side trip were mediocre mostly the morning part of the trip met expectations with the afternoon falling flat. Some of the guide appeared to equate talking with being a good guide rather that the quality of the information. If I were to go again I would organise my own side trips.

The only real disappointment I had with the cruise was the port stop in Sumatra, there was not a redeeming feature for this stop which was an industrial port with high level of poverty in the surrounding areas. Those guests that participated is a shore trip were very disappointed. Overall we had a fabulous time and would recommend this cruise.

Cabin Review

King size bed one lounge chair and two outside chairs with table. All comfortable. Bathroom adequate and well maintained.
