My husband and I were looking forward to trying Celebrity Cruise Line. We are Diamond members with RCCL and heard that Celebrity Cruise Line was a step above. Well to be honest we did not think this cruise met up to our expectations. I will say the ship was very pretty and very well maintained. The service was excellent and where it felt short was the food and the menu. Selection was at a minimal and what we did choose was not to our liking. Most everything we ordered was overcooked and dry. On our past cruises, which are 20, we always looked forward to Dinner. On this cruise we dreaded it. I know we had an option to eat in the speciality restaurants but to be honest with you I feel that we should not have to resort to that. At least not until our experience on board the Celebrity Constellation. We were not satisfied with breakfeast either. The food in the Buffet was just ok. However we liked the food in the Bistro on Five. Minimal menu but we enjoyed what we ordered. There was a $5.00 cover charge per person which was well worth it.
All in all I have say that the cruise was a disappointment.
There was also a unforeseen problem with one of the engines on the ship. We had to stay in the port of Key West for 2 nights. During this time on ship there really was nothing to do to entertain the passengers during the day. You were able to tender to the Port again but we seen all that we needed to see the first day. They should have come up with some fun things to do during this time. We were also scheduled to go to Cozumel but do to the lack of time the Captain rerouted and took us to Nassau, Bahamas. We were disappointed but we understood that the safety of the passengers and the crew was the most important thing. We command the Captain on his decision.
The cabin was perfect. I have the need for a handicap room. It was extremely comfortable and well maintained. Our cabin Steward was very accommodating.
