Arrived Fort Lauderdale the night before the cruise, January 6. The airport is not user -friendly! After a long wait for bags and cab made our way to a Comfort Suites. The room was so small that the bathroom door would not close because one of the beds was too close! Anyway, survived a rough night there and took private limo to pier- very short 1/2 hour drive. We used ABC limo- nicest people ever!
We were booked into a 2 bedroom Courtyard Villa. Embarkation was a breeze- Maxi, one of the butlers, escorted to our room within 20 minutes of our 11:20 am arrival. One problem noted- no "orientation" was given to the amenities of the private courtyard but we figured it out. The pool is very small but the Courtyard very elegant. Leaving port was beautiful, standing on the upper sundeck with a glass of champagne.
Accommodations: At first I was a bit disappointed in the suite-the storage is in odd places, the master bath has a glass door with large white stripes..we were used to the 1000 sq feet on Disney. Anyway, we were travelling with our 3 kiddies, age 7,7 and 5 and soon found non-traditional places to store things. There was plenty of room, just not where you would expect it. The room was very attractive, however, with rich woods and bright yet tasteful accents. Our kids loved the second bedroom which easily accommodated all three. There was no table in their room and the 3 small drawers were about 8 inches deep- but no big deal. Lots of shampoos and soaps, pens, paper, CD's, etc. The beds were heavenly with awesome linens. Being in the actual courtyard was like being on your own cruise ship. It was peaceful ( with the exception below) and elegant. A great place to read, get sun or just nap. The floor itself is QUIET!!
