We sailed on the Constellation in November on their Greek Islands cruise., not our happiest.
Travelling to istanbul was as usual for us easy as not that long a flight from U.K. and train and tram from Attaturk airport is so so simple. we got of the tram just a couple minutes from where the Constellation was docked. Embarcation was wonderful as by six p.m. no crowds just a few late comers like us, no stress. Went straight to our cabin which although a little shabby was clean, still took a couple of hours for bags to arrive!!
There are two very strange men giving out info on the t.v. I suppose they may entertain pre-teens with their infantile humour but do we really need it?
The main restaurant is on two levels, one has a young lady Ass. Maitre d' she is wonderfully efficient and helpful. the other has a guy who seems to be on a ego trip, I do not expect when told by the guest desk to ask himabout a table change that "I am the Ass. Maitre D' I do not deal with More
tables changes, go and ask the cutomer relation desk" He sorted it out for us after I told him we had been asked to get him to do it.
Food: The buffet if very good and varied. The food in the dining room is not. The entrees and desserts are beautifully presented and very nice but there is a problem with the main course. One meal was a "Veal cordon bleu" which when cooked correctly can be wondreful, this was not, deep fried veal snitzel with a deep fried vegatable croquette is not a Cordon bleu. Reconstituted chicken in a roll cut in to portions with a strange sauce over it is not "Chicken Sambuca". Overcooked lobster is just a bad kitchen operation but the Aberdeen angus sirloin steak was terrific, what is this all about. The waiters are telling you at every meal that if there is a problem just have something else. It seems if you complain about the food or mark in down on the card then the waiter is also marked down by Celebrity for something that is not his fault.
All of the places we stopped at we have been to before but if was great to come back even though this was our second East Med cruise this year our 3rd. in total and our13th. cruise
customer service is good but Ellen on guest relations has a problem, unless a guest is being rude or uncivil to you it is your job to be helpful and to keep your personal opinions to yourself. Maybe a few months seconded to Sainsbury or Tesco will show you how customer relations really works.
Disembarcation: Easy as we left early with our own bags, safest way we find.
