SeaDream II Cruise Review by PatriciaFR: Just. Awful.

The tag line is half right- it's not cruising. It's sitting in an industrial port swatting flies,
Hoping they fix the air conditioning and wondering how things went so terribly, terribly wrong.
The staff of this boat is fantastic- great, attentive and personal service. Food is ok. Ship shows some signs of wear and mechanical maintenance is of concern given 36 hour air conditioning outage. Makes you worry if the plumbing may be next. spa is lovely and services were good.
The real issue, though,is that the cruise is so falsely advertised. Water toys and swimming off the boat? About four hours of 1 day. Pulling up to pristine secluded beaches where there are no other ships? One day...sort of. Knowledge of ports? Non-existent. When we asked, the staff said "we've never been here before so we don't know." Other infamous quotes included: "we think you can find a town if you go that way." Excursions were grim- a rubber factory? A rice museum? And staying on the More boat was not much fun. Very hot and lots of competition for seats I'm the shade. There was a disastrous snorkeling trip where money was refunded. The outdoor beds under the stars? Lovely but adjacent to the bar so not really desirable. Yoga classes on the beach? Never happened. Spa treatments outside on the deck? Sorry, maintenance painting going on back there (really? On Christmas cruise?)
The library? Year old magazines obviously left by former cruisers and light novels only. We had hoped for information on the history and culture of the area. There was an almanac from 2002 which indicated the collection does not get a lot of attention. Christmas decorations looked dated. We tried to take a bike ashore but had flat tire; this happened to a number of folks.
These issues are not related to the staff on the boat, they did their best with an increasingly disgruntled
Group. This is an executive level issue- this route was very poorly planned and executed.
We paid for a suite which was small but we knew that. The problem is that we paid double what we usually pay for the Owners Suite on Seaborn because we thought it would be a very serene experience
Wih lots of beach and swim off the boat time. Have let CEO know we are feeling very cheated but no word yet. Very, very disappointed and dissatisfied with this experience. Less

Cabin review: 318
Cabin was smaller and no deck but we knew that. Bathrooms were smaller than expected and we missed having coffee, wine in cabin. There were some small tears in the wall coverings and light stains on our curtains but otherwise nicely appointed and well-serviced.
Highly recommended; unmatched ...
