this was to be a family holiday trip for our daughter her husband and our two college age grandchildren and we pick this ship because of the amenities that it offered our family...It truly was a great ship. The cabins were lovely and large enough for us and the kids had no complaints. Our Steward was beyond fabulous BUT I must admit we TIP on the first day and every other day while on board ($20) to say an extra thank you for their good service. They get $12.50 for @ person in the room added to your bill for each day on board, but the extra tip is nice for these very attentive room stewards , we also do this in the main dining room where we dine each night. I have to say that the food in the Windjammer and dining rooms was the worst food we have ever had on any ship ever. Our dining wait staff tried so hard to get us something we could eat and it just got worse with each meal. We ate bread and butter even the salad were bad because the dressing were so horrible. I spoke to the food service manager on the last day on board when she walk over and asked us about the cruise. I was not going to say anything but my husband encouraged me to speak up. So I did..I am sure to no avail. I did write the ship about it on their survey and gave them examples of what happened during our cruise. I am not clear on weather it was the quality, the recipes or the preparation but something need to be done, right away. The salt content was so high and MSG too that we were so swollen with fluid that by the end of the cruise it was hard to but your shoes on.

The Tours were fun for them kids because they were actively doing something BUT the tours to their so called Island were a mess. The food was awful the chairs on the beach broken and bathrooms marginal to use and feel safe. Don't GO! Belize is a very poor country and the US Does not regard it as a safe place to tour on your own so don't! We did take the ferry $13.00 each way over to Playa Del Carmen from Cozumel and the ferry was fun but rocky ruff water. We went over because we were told how much nicer it was then Cozumel. I don't know if that was true but we enjoyed walking down the main street and shopping for pocketbooks but nothing to rave about. We did stop at a wonderful restaurant and had the first decent meal in 3 days. By the way we had no problem with the food or beverages. We did go to the Chopp Grilll Christmas Eve and our meal their was superb. Everyone of us was pleased with the food and service and we love the room. Our server was a little cool but we talked to him and he got better. The entertainment on this ship was top of the line. We loved every show and agree with the other review about the quality of the performances. Don't miss any of them. We had long lines to board the ship out of St Lauderdale, but a quick departure experience.

Cabin Review

very nice cabins for all our family, good bathrooms (remember you are not on the Regent) clean easy to use and plenty of towels. the bed was very comfortable and we had enough closet space (we were only gone 5 days) bed linens were soft and comfy and the vanity was great for my personal makeup needs. sofa was hard but it was a sleep sofa . our balcony was adequate. American Express sent all of us a bottle of bubbly and we took it to the dining room where they chilled it and we had it with dinner. Very nice treat.
