This was the first time with Carnival (usually cruise with Princess and Holland America) and we were not disappointed. We travelled with family (children and grandchildren) and it was heir first time travelling. Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly, we arrived at our allocated time and were on the ship within 30 minutes of arriving at the wharf.
Our balcony cabin was comfortable with plenty of storage space, bed and pillows very comfortable. The only problem was that the door to the balcony didn't seal properly and therefore you would hear the whistling of the wind at night, but it didn't really affect our sleep.
The food was good with lots of choices, but probably not at the same standard as other cruises we have been on.
The main dining room had a great atmosphere, very friendly staff, especially Garry, Alvin and George and the service was fantastic. The maître de, Desi was fantastic she had the dining room rocking every night, it was the best atmosphere of any dining room on a cruise ship we have been on.
There were 4 children travelling in our group aged from 6-11 and they all had a great time. They didn't spend a great deal of time in kids club, but got very involved in all the activities on-board.
The excursions were very expensive so we organised our own at half the price when we got on to the islands.
The Christmas carols on Christmas Eve were very good as everyone gathered in the atrium and joined in the singing.
The Christmas show on the following night was very disappointing.
Christmas lunch in the MDR was very nice, food was great and lots of atmosphere'
I would recommend this cruise ship to anyone with a family, the kids on board (900) were well catered for and there was also entertainment for over 18's if you wanted some time away from the kids.
