Food and Entertainment onboard Exployer of the Seas

Sail Date: October 2013
Destination: Bermuda
Embarkation: Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

Ship: Was clean and well maintained. The new soda vending machines with over 100 choices was very neat and convenient. It was really neat to have a small shopping mall right on the ship with bars/pubs mixed in throughout. The wife could shop and I could grab a drink.

Activities/Entertainment: We always enjoy the shows that are offered, And for the first time we saw the Ice Skating show WOW!! This is not something that you want to miss. This was a fabulous show although, plan on taking a Jacket or sweater. It is a ice skating rink onboard and yes it is chilly.

Love and Marriage Gameshow: This is one of RCI shows we had on prior ship, but again very funny and another you dont wanna miss.

The Quest: Another RCI show we had on prior ship, but this time I was a Team Captain and had a great time. This was held in the ice rink and the covered the floor with a wooden floor. Due to the ice under and the air warmer the floor was slippery, so they asked us to take our More shoes off so we wouldnt slip and fall. I sure was glad to have socks on as some did not. Very cold feet.

Battle of the Sexes: Another of RCI shows that is very entertaining that of course the guys one. Prior sailing the girls won, This is another show that is fun to watch but more fun to participate in.

There are bands, comedy shows(adult comedy so no kids), dancers magical show all shows we saw we thought were great,

Our cabin was plenty large enough for the time we spent in there. It was nice to be able to see outside lying in the bed. The curtains/blinds were dark enough as well if you wanted to take a afternoon nap which we did a few times. The bed and bedding was extremely comfortable. Our room attendant (Walter) was wonderful.

BIRTHDAY PACKAGE:: I bought this package for the wife and although very nice RCI Messed it up on numerous times. Dates were wrong, cake was delivered to wrong place and time. However our room attendant got her a bottle of champagne and two glasses, to make up for the mistakes. All in all it does not matter if you call ahead to make sure everything is set up and correct as they messed it up anyway. Very disappointed with all of the mistakes, but RCI did not charge me for the package due to all of the errors. Less

Port and Shore Excursions

We bought the all day pass for both bus and ferry, Highly recommended. Please note the most activities on the island close pretty early so make sure you note the ferry and bus schedule times. The locals are very friendly and not pushy at all trying to sell you stuff, like we faced in Nassuu Bahamas. They have a pharmacy on the island not far at all from the dockyard, called the Dockyard Pharmacy that has many many items you may want need or forgot at very reasonable prices. They are less expensive then the gift shops on the ship. We also went to the mall also within walking distance from the ship or you can ride the trolley free of charge that was fun as well. At the market/mall I had the best cup of coffee I had all week, as I dont care for the ships coffee too much. My wife bought a few really nice outfits and some other items as well. Food on this island is very Expensive!! We saw hot pretzels $12 half of chicken $25 etc. We just got on the boat to eat. Our first day the we went to turtle bay beach it was very dirty, Second day Horseshoe bay beach, Very nice. clean beach beautiful rock formations and plenty of fish to see. A few snuck some cherios off of the ship and were feeding them. I got some really neat pictures underwater. Drinks and food was not that overpriced at this free beach. We had a few of the mixed drinks at only about $4 ea. We did not eat there but did look at what was offered,. Chicken fingers, burgers, hot dogs etc. but all were reasonable priced. If you want to do any snorkeling Highly recommend you take gear with you to this beach as they do not rent snorkeling gear here but they do sell it, Very expensive for cheap walmart gear. Our third day at Kings Wharf we just stayed in the Dockyard not wanting to miss departure times. We visited the Dockyard Museum and had alot of fun but it is more for adults then children. Alot of history and old stuff found on the island after the wars, just not something our kids would enjoy.
