Had a great time

Several reviews were negative - but we had a great time.

Food was pretty darn good - Princess food was maybe a hair better - but the free coffee is definitely better on RCI.

Anytime dining worked well for us. Harry the waiter was very attentive and got to know our needs from the first night. It helps to stay with one waiter. Windjammer buffet for breakfast and lunch ( who had room) was excellent. I only ate from the bucket - of - scrambled eggs once, but other eggs were fine, and omelets were good. Fresh fruit was very good and canned fruit was decent. Breads were OK. They are a bit goofy about location of butter, jelly, cream cheese - so the flow through the buffet was something to get used to. Windjammer service was great for all days except the last day. If you were unhappy with the food - cook for yourself.

Soft serve by the pool - yea baby!

Other reviewers commented on the many 'ole timers. Yes. Pool area was like assisted living. But that worked well for using the exercise facility - machines were nicely available and clean. How do you choose the age of the other 3000 people on board? No one's fault .

The deck movie times conflicted with Anytime dining hours - they could have repeated the movies. Otherwise the entertainment was pretty good. The cruise director - Joff was a riot. . As the hilarious ventriloquist quipped " toe tags." Pants wetting laughter. Juggler was entertaining. Country singer pretty good in the Dog and Badger Pub. Rock band was also good, but repeated their play list too frequently. No I did not watch the parades.

The ship was beautiful and clean. Captain's announcements were dull and basically weather reports. It would have been nice to hear something other from the guy in charge.

Room clean and comfy, balcony nice, attendant was very attendant. Mr. King and Mr. Donis always greeted us warmly and hospitably. They work very hard, and it showed.

Ports were great, beautiful. San Juan visit was way too short. Had to leave at 1:30

The gripers were right about on-board activities. Scant and a bit lame. Towel folding and belly flop contest ? Could have added an hour for thinking contests. If you have to reply on a cruise line to keep you happy 24/7, you have a problem - keep yourself busy, occupied, stop complaining and you will do just fine on this cruise.
