Celebrity Silhouette Cruise Review by jcerst: Terrific cruise
Overall Member Rating
Embarkation: Rome (Civitavecchia)
This was our second transatlantic cruise both on Celebrity and our fourth cruise with Celebrity.
We had the best time meeting new cruise-mates as well as crew members, what a terrific experience!
Because of high winds we were delayed departing so we missed our stop in Florence/Pisa.
Our butler, Arnel took care of our every need and came to understand what we preferred for the evening snacks.
The cabin attendants kept the suite spotless.
The ship was in great condition and seemed brand new, no rust to be seen.
Our only negative was food and service at The Porch. American breakfast sandwich seemed to have been microwaved, not good at all. Tried the Ruben for lunch, very tasty but the server or the chef opened the bag of chips by slapping the bag on the counter crushing them into pieces. Celebrity could make better use of the space taken up by the Porch or improve the food and service.
We tried all the specialty restaurants More except Blu and still find Tuscan Grill to be some of the best food on the high seas! My steak was cook to perfection and the service second to none.
For the first time we tried lunch in the MDR and it was excellent every time during the cruise.
All dinners in the MDR meet our expectations, good service and food quality.
Entertainment was hit and miss, we are not "theater people".
Our captain has the best since of humor and very interesting to listen to.
Overall one of our best trips. Less
