Plans Changed But Excellent Service Did Not

Sail Date: December 2013
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

We were first time cruisers but would go with Celebrity again now that we are hooked!

The planned route took us from Ft. Lauderdale overnight to Key West, then following a shore day there another overnight to Cozumel before returning to our starting point. Engine trouble forced cancelation of the Cozumel stop on our short cruise but a second day in Key West was hardly a disaster.

I'm sure there was some scrambling going on behind the scenes to rearrange things and Nassau was substituted as our next stop. All things considered the crew were excellent at keeping everyone informed but no "freebies" were offered to make up for the disappointing change in the itinerary.

Everything else about the cruise was first class; the restaurant service and offerings were superb, the outside deck accommodations were great, and even the nightly entertainment was far better than we expected for a shorter cruise like this one.

Over our 40+ years of married life we have More traveled to a lot of places in the world (Caribbean, Europe, the Orient) but always by plane. After this experience we will definitely do more cruising and we would like to try this particular routing again to see if we can finally get to see Cozumel.

Since we are snowbirds from Canada but spend winters in Florida we are able to take advantage of any last minute cruise deals that pop up since we are less than an hour away from Port Everglades. Less

Cabin review: Celebrity Constellation 7073

Although the room was quite small (171 sq. ft.) the storage space was more than adequate for our twosome. If the full capacity of 4 people was in residence then maybe not so good! The balcony (veranda) was perfect for 2 with two loungers and small table, with an unobstructed view on the port side of the ship.
