Is Celebrity Changing Its Marketing Strategy
At our Cruise Critic Meet and Mingle, I had a chance to ask the Silhouette Cruise Director about the A Capella group which was conspicuously missing from the Daily Program. She advised me and my family that there was a new Celebrity slogan, 'Modern Luxury', and that A Capella groups were being phased out across the fleet because they did not meet 'Modern Luxury'. She suggested that if we wanted A Capella we should sail Holland America.
As for the cruise, Embarkation was quick and easy. We were in adjoining cabins on deck 10, Concierge Class. The promised canapes were awful. As I explained to the Maitre d', marinated olives and melon balls are not finger food.
Stateroom was well serviced.
We dined in Grand Cuvee, and the food was mostly excellent. Both sommelier and waiter service was excellent. The Oceanview Cafe food was great. Table-cleaning was again lacking, as it was a year ago.
Entertainment was excellent.
