Ship Facts: Celebrity Silhouette Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Celebrity Silhouette Deck Plans
Great Customer Service

This was our first cruise on Celebrity and we were traveling with friends who at sailed on the Silhouette last year and had recommended it. We have previously sailed with Carnival (8 trips) Royal Caribbean (2 trips) and Princess (1 trip). This was by far our best cruise. We started in Rome and were scheduled for a day in Florence, one day in Provence France, one day in Barcelona Spain, two days at sea, on day at the Canary Islands and 7 days at sea ending up in Fort Lauderdale. Because of high winds and safety concerns were delayed leaving Rome and therefor missed Florence. While we have liked to have seen it we commend the Captain in his judgment of safety first.

From check-in to the morning we left 14 days later customer service was the theme of the cruise. Everyone we encountered did there very best to ensure we were well taken care of from our cabin steward to the dining staff, specialty restaurants and lounges/bars to Guest relations. Alitalia had lost our luggage and then when they found it refused to deliver it for five days. Bianca, the Concierge took charge and worked hard to get our bags and also to make sure we were as comfortable as possible under the circumstances. She was a real asset.

We had opted for private tours in France and Spain and had a great time. Just pay attention to the time so that you don't miss the ship. We opted to stay on board at the Canary Islands as there was nothing that really interested us. We think the main reason to stop here was for fuel.

The specialty restaurants were great and varied enough to make them fun and all were worth the extra money. If you ask at the restaurant reservation desk they will tell you of discounts offered - anywhere from 20-50% off.

We were concerned about weather and sea conditions for what wound being 10 days at sea but never had a problem. We had one slightly rough day but it didn't bother us. The weather started out a little cool but got warner each day ending up in the 80's the last day. There was plenty to do if you wanted or nothing to do if you wanted. If you were bored (and we were not) it was your own fault. The weak spot, if you want to call it that, was entertainment. Due to it being a 14 day repositioning cruise it was not the best we have seen but was ok. The onboard production dancers and singers were good. The night we enjoyed the most was the deck party. Full of energy and a good time.

All in all we had a great time, LOVED the Silhouette and staff and crew and will definitely be a repeat passenger with Celebrity!
