Great Ship-Great Crew: Explorer of the Seas Cruise Review by NJ Jon 2009

Great Ship-Great Crew
Embarkation: Bayonne (Cape Liberty)
A couple of downsides:
We did the 7 night Bahamas cruise from Bayonne. While the port was very convenient for us being from Central NJ, the ports schedule left much to be desired. We didn't arrive to our first port (Canaveral) until 2:00 on day 3. Given the 5pm sunset, didn't leave many options given our lack of interest in theme parks. Same timing for Nassau, the 2nd port. Not enough daylight to enjoy the beach. We we're lucky that the weather cooperated for our last port, the cruise line's private island, Coco Cay, which was absolutely great. We we're told that the wind conditions didn't allow any other ships to visit Coco Cay this week.
Breakfast and lunch we're open seating unlike our previous cruise experiences which allowed us to go to our table and More waiter in the main dinning room. This meant either roaming around the Windjammer Buffet in search for a table, which often took 15-20 mins. or waiting in line at the main dinning room which was often quite long on sea days.
Entertainment was a bit lame/kind of low end comics and singers
That being said, would cruise again on the Explorer in a heartbeat. Ship was awesome, crew was great, can't wait to return to RCCL. Less
