Ship Facts: Allure of the Seas Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Allure of the Seas Deck Plans
Russell and Bernard

My wife Debbie and I have been on 30+ cruises, the majority have been aboard RCCL ships. This was our first time on The Allure of the Seas. The ship will make you want to keep sailing her. What a monster, but one with a very congenial personality. Really never felt crowded, embarkation and debarkation were both run very smooth.

Activities are numerous, you won't get bored on this bad boy. Great shows, bands, live entertainment and even the Captain riding the decks on his mini Harley. Need a drink, turn around there is a bar right there. Need a meal, there are many great "free" restuarants onboard serving everything from bratwurst with onions (The Hot Dog Hut" to very healthy choices, the restaurant in the Solarium that turns into the Samba grill at night. The Central Park Cafe s great for salads and rolled sondwiches and paninis. The speciality restaurants we went to, Chops and Giovanni's, were also very good.

I need to put a shout out to the 2 finest servers we have ever had on our 30+ cruises inthe MDR. Russell, the waiter, and Bernard, his helper, were FABULOUS! Our group of travelers do not think of ourselves as well heeled. We like to party but in a manner that will not affect other diners. We asked these guys for items that were not on the menu and for them to do little things for us that were over and above what might be expected. They really exceeeded our expectations.

For you cigar smokers, you can smoke almost everynite on deck 16 or 17 of the solarium. these decks are pretty open so the next day they are fresh as a daisy. There is a bar at both decks with a humorous bartender who makes great drinks.

The food at the windjammer was limited and just OK, but with all the other free options available you won't miss it. The PC workstations seemed a bit faster than on most of the other ships.

There was a lifeboat problem before we left Nassau so we left around 4 hours late and arrived at ST. Thomas around 3 hours late. Most, if not all, shore excursions were cancelled. This didn't really affect us as we were going to get off for about an hour anyways. RCCL creditted each room a certain amount to make us happy. Nice touch.

This ship can be the destination, absolutely, positively. I you are a long time cruiser don't worry about what ports you are visiting you probably won't get off anyways.
