GREAT CRUISE - NOT SURE WHY THERE ARE SO MANY NEGATIVE COMMENTS

Sail Date: December 2013
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

We have been on approximately 50 cruises and this was our 14th on Princess.

Embarkation was fine and no worse than any other ship embarkation we have ever been on.

The ship is absolutely gorgeous with that "new ship feel" - everything is sparkly clean and fresh.

Sailed in a mini-suite and loved the new design; much more efficient than the older mini-suites.

Bed was fantastic and the room was very, very quiet. The only announcement that came through on the speaker was the daily briefing by the Captain, who by the way was fantastic.

The new television system in the room is great; with lots of on-demand programming, and combined with the new intranet to use on your phone, tablet, laptop, this innovation is a big plus for Princess! Great job.

The staff on this ship are fabulous - very courteous, friendly, helpful and efficient.

The new buffet design is superior to any other Princess ship we have been on. The design is spread More out with different stations to minimize the usual buffet crowding, and seating is plentiful even at the busiest times. Food was great. Went to the Concerto dining room and had no difficulty getting a table for 2 with Anytime Dining. We were able to make a reservation for 7:30 and even got to request our favorite dining team.

Entertainment was great with a very active cruise staff and lots of activities even while in port.

The new theater has no poles to block your view so that is a big plus. Most nights had 3 show times, which works out well. The shows, comedian, and magician were all excellent.

Loved that the Spa is on Deck 5 and the Fitness Center is on Deck 17 - no need to run the "gauntlet" every time I want to work out. The equipment in the fitness center is wonderful - state of the art.

Embarkation was good, but you may have difficulty getting a porter if you need one as they make them stay on the same customs line for exiting as the passengers.

I would highly recommend this ship and can't wait to sail on it again. Less
