Relaxing Cruise to IsLa Roatan, Belize and Cozumel

Sail Date: December 2013
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Galveston

Drove to Galveston Sunday morning, ate lunch at Gaidos, don't miss the seafood here, this place has been open for over 100 years.

This is our 6th cruise, but first on Magic. We dropped luggage off at cruise port than drove to Parking Lot B, $70.00. Then took shuttle back with carry-on items. It was about 2:30, so we were at end of line, which we prefer. We had a pack of 24 water bottles and 2 bottles of wine. This is the first time they checked every single bottle of water, to make sure they are not filled with alcohol. Afterwards, check-in was a breeze.

We went to our cabin, 6397, mid ship, near elevators, above deck 5, near casino, wifi hub, ocean plaza. We really liked our cabin location, access to other places just going up and down elevators.

Safety meeting a little different now, met at muster station, they showed a video.

We were impressed by ship, we enjoyed it, water park, court for playing, sky course, candy store, golf. Movies outside in More open, we really enjoyed with popcorn. Food galore, deli, pizzeria, Italian $12 per person, worth going. Pub, snacks, $2-$3. Coffee bar, better than lido deck coffee. Burritos were great during lunch, for breakfast we recommend the brunch in dining room, better than lido deck breakfast.

IsLa Roatan, Honduras - ok stop, we decided to pay $40 total for both of us, RT taxi to West End. Driver waited while we looked around and ate lunch at the Barking Monkey. Delicious shrimp fajitas and super cool owner from our hometown, Austin, Texas. Don't miss this place on the West End.

Belize - honestly don't waste your time in city, hubby went off to key for diving, I went to city. Ships sit about 6-7 miles from land, tendering can take up to an hour. I was dissappointed with this stop, poor and dirty place, trash everywhere. Hubby did enjoy his dives, clear water, but this took ALL day.

Cozumel - luv this place, been here a few times, always our favorite stop. Went snorkeling and hung out on beach all day, did a little shopping on the way back to the ship.

Overall we had a very relaxing trip, enjoyed the free drink coupons, VIP party drinks, we did as little as possible, we would definitely go on Magic again, but different stops. Less

Scuba Diving: get picked up by boat and taken to dive spot, enjoyed dives, clear water, saw tons of lobster, an octopus, an eel. Will come back to dive Blue Hole.
