My wife and I are veteran cruisers (28) and are "Platinum" with NCL. Their casual approach to cruising is always enjoyable with very few interruptions on the ship's intercom and an overall relaxed atmosphere. The design of this ship makes travel on the two main decks difficult. Large areas quickly bottleneck into a small passage. The pool deck is especially disjointed with its traffic flow and chair placement. We generally spend all day at the pool but constant traffic and lousy non live music moved us to the back of the ship, which is really nice.
The live entertainment on this ship was excellent. A great variety of options in the smaller venues kept us busy all evening which was good because eating dinner was a pain. We usually eat in the "pay" restaurants to avoid a hassle but two mediocre visits sent us to the main dining rooms where you could wait quite a while. Visit the dining room mid ship, get your beeper then go to "Bar City" and listen to James play a great piano.
This cruise tenders twice. The first full day is in Great Stirrip Cay. This will be your best chance for an easy beach day and snorkel, but you must tender to shore. Go early!
You can enjoy this cruise if you learn the moves of the herd, then counter them. Use the stateroom decks to travel the length of the ship. On deck 7, the Promenade, step outside to travel if your hair can take it. Remember, you are on vacation so relax...
no problem with taxi drivers here...go to the "Thirsty Cougar" and see Nico for some great food and views
if you don't plan to just walk around, take an excursion!! Taxi drivers will annoy the crap out of you trying to fill up their van.
