26 October 2013, we had been looking forward to this cruise for 18 month,so just just imagine as we booked in with our tickets and passports to be told that due to bad weather we would not be sailing to-day or may be the next day OR maybe the next day. This was the weekend of the storms in the channel, 100 mph winds,10 mt swells, The captain had move the ship to a more sheltered berth for more cover.
What can you do, its back to the bar,Still not moved on Sunday its back to the bar,Monday morning comes and there is rumors we may be moving around midday , And we did, at around 3pm we set sail.
Due to being held up for so long we where now going to miss some of our ports of call, Le Harve,Vigo, and The Azores, we did get to Lisbon and Bermuda which was a fantastic place. We finally got to Lauderdale on time.Due to missing the ports above there was a bit of moaning on board as to why we never sailed on the Sat the 26,as there was a cruise ship that did sail, but for me More
the captain made the right choice, just imagine being in the bay of Biscay in force 10 gales.
After all the up and downs of this cruise we had a GREAT time, Nearly every one on board accepted that there is not much you can do about the weather, and you dont take any chances when on board a ship, and to make things even better, PRINCESS to there credit, REFUNDED 50% of the cruise to every passenger, 50%. Well done PRINCESS Less
