My husband and I are seasoned cruisers with over 30 cruises under our belt, we've traveled on celebrity, royal caribean NCL, carnival, Holland America. This was our second cruise with Princess.
Just got off the Crown Princess this morning, we sailed 12/14 to 12/21. The reason for this quick review is because we were very apprehensive about this cruise. After reading so many negative reviews these past 3 weeks or so we prepared for the worst and decided that no matter what we were going to have fun.
We had nothing to worry about:
Embarkation - arrived a bit after 12:30 - no line no waiting smiling staff wishing us a great cruise
Staff - Friendly, courteous, respectful, hard working and always helpful.
Cabin - front of the ship deck 14. Toilets flushed, A/C worked, spotless. Romeo was wonderful
Food - excellent all arround. We were always able to find a table in Horizon, people seem to congregate right were you got off the elevators, we just walked further back a bit (by the pool in back of the ship) it was quiet and plenty of tables. Had 8 pm seating, Valentin our waiter was amazing did not know what to do for us kept bringing dishes out for us to taste, food was delicious!
Entertainment - Variety shows were colorful very good singers. Did not care for the comic.
Ship - very good condition, yes they were varnishing railings and painting deck 7, plenty of lounge chair in the open decks, football under the stars Sunday (go Dolphins!) Lionel Richie, Paul McCartney concerts.
Disembarkation - Flawless, organized
Overall cruise experience - Perfection.
We do have one negative not with Princess but with Park and GO at embarkation one word "Madhouse" arrived around 11 30 am took one hour to get to the port! Have patience if you are planning to use them.
