We love this old and medium sized ship and its crew.

Having sailed back to back around Australia and New Zealand last winter, we went for the Hawaii cruise out of San Diego this past October.

Our only real disappointment was that the same area of the mid ship inside rooms which we had an issue with on the Hawaii cruise, was once again too HOT when we entered the warmer climates. Some of our family had a room nearby and it also was unbearably hot.

Rather than address the fact that chillers were not able to keep both the rooms and the public areas cool, customer service at times made our family members feel like they were imagining the heat within the rooms.

Sleeping at night was intolerable and the air conditioning "service" calls were not effective.

Add to this that the cruise line allowed an elderly couple to bring their dog onboard (not a seeing eye dog or service dog) just a family pet -- who could not control itself or its need for More outside time. ..needless to describe what happened --doggie messes in the hallway, right outside the rooms which were the hottest in the floor, and whole crews of cleanup staff who had to disinfect the whole hallway - and block access to rooms while they did it.

We remain hopeful that they will update the Century who has served us well and give her a new lease on life....maybe a heated indoor pool?

Thanks for some great cruises Century. Less
