Awful cruise

Sail Date: December 2013
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami

I've been on 2 other Norwegian cruises that were great, but the Epic is awful. The inside cabin was very nice, but that's where it ends. The food is not good and lacks flavor, but here is the worst.

To get to one of the 2 main dining rooms (Taste) from our mid-ship aft. cabin we had to walk through a smoke filled casino as the elevator did not stop at that deck. Next the Atrium lounge where they had entertainment did not have anywhere near enough seats for a 4,000 passenger ship.

They had oversized chairs too large for one person, but not large enough for two with huge spaces in between that they could have put in many more single seats. The large round tables also took up a lot of space where they could have put in seats. People had to sit on folding chairs to view game shows, music etc. The same was also true at the Bliss lounge, not enough seats, but room for two sofa beds where they could have fit at least 30 more single chairs. The dance floor at the Bliss More lounge was so dull you could not dance on it.

Most of the live dance music was in Fat Cats saloon and other lounges where people sat in long rows, and no dance floor in any of them. All this dance music should have been in the Bliss lounge if they had more single seats, small round tables and not the huge chairs for one. They had huge round tables that could have been used for more seats. They had stools without backs that should have been in the children's playroom instead of the Bliss lounge.

Most ships have a free show every night in the theater at 7 and 9:00, this ship had one "the Blue Man Group" that you had to make reservations for. "Cirque & Dinner" charged $29.00 or $39.00 with reservations, and only surf & turf on the menu. They had a free comedy show only at 11 p.m. as well as the " Second city" in an over crowded lounge with rows of seats. (boring, not even funny).

The White Hot dance party on the open H2O aft deck was windy, and again nowhere near enough seats, although there was plenty of open space for them. They always had a free cocktail party for bronze members, but not on this ship.

I may try another Norwegian cruise, but not on the Epic.. Less
