Ship Facts: MSC Preziosa Review (by Cruise Critic!)
MSC Preziosa in Yacht Club

After three wonderful cruises in Yacht Club we decided to try the brand new MSC Preziosa. We have have previously cruised twice in Yacht Club onboard the MSC Divina and once onboard the first Fantasiaclass vessel, the MSC Fantasia. We simply love this product and it's very good value for money in my opinion.

So we had big expectations when we boarded the ship in Genova for our Western Mediterranean cruise.

We arrived the newly refurbished MSC Terminal about 12 AM and were met by our butler as well as very efficient check-in staff. All formalities done in a few minutes and we were onboard this magnificent ship in no time. MSC Preziosa is a sistership of MSC Divina and they are identical. Just different decor colours in the interiors. In addition MSC have added he Vertigo Waterslide which was extremely fun. The ship is spotless and the Yacht Club enclave very nice. As we have cruised before in YC there was no need for a assisted tour of the Yacht Club area which is offered to all embarking guests. We booked one of the large Yacht Club Deluxe suites on 33 sqm. They are a bit larger than the standard YC Deluxe cabin but the cruisefare is the same. Very nice decor and warm colurs. Walk in closet with safe. Bathtube in the bathroom. A lot of storage. Flat screen TV with mostly European channels as well as safety channel and a navigation information channel with TV cams from different part of the ship.

The service in YC is wonderful. Our butler and the staff in the concierge and the different venues are very attentive and friendly. And it was so nice to meet staff that we had met on previous cruises in YC. They had not forgot our preferences. We are so happy with them.

Dining take place in the Yacht Club Restaurant Le Palmeraie aft on deck 14. It's my time dining in the restaurant. The first night we were dissapointed by the food. It was cold and lukewarm, Not as it should be. One in our party discussed this with the restaurant manager and he deeply apologized for this. This complain helped, the next night the food was HOT. Great service as usual in the restaurant and they have a new menu every night, 7 courses. In addition the always available menu. In the Top Sail Lounge they serve continental breakfast and at the One Pool Deck there is a lunch buffet including a salatbar, hot and cold dishes. Very delicious. The buffet on the One Pool Deck is weather permitting. Except for the first dinner the food was very good in all venues the whole week. Cannot fault anything. We also had lunch in the main buffetrestaurant and it was as usual very crowded and noisy from time to time. Good selection of food but drinkservice is slow. If you want less noise and crowds a good advice is to go in the aft part of the restaurant.

On this cruise we visited Naples, Messina, Tunis, Barcelona, Marseille and we had one day at sea. We had this itinerary back in 2010 and we mostly stayed onboard except in Barcelona and Marseille. We simply love to stay onboard and enjoy the facilities in YC. Especially when the weather is warm and sunny as it was during our cruise.

Every night there is a live pianist in the Top Sail Loung and the atmosphere is calm and relaxing, perfect for a holiday. We also attended a acrobat show in the theater.

On our last day in Genova we had to leave our cabin by 0800AM. We had breakfast in the Top Sail Lounge and waited until 1100AM to leave. No problem to stay onboard longer. Disembarkation was efficient. Our butler assisted us of the ship and into the luggage hall of the terminal. However, I would like to keep the cabin until 09 AM. 08 AM is to early in my opinion.

We had a lovely cruise in Yacht Club and MSC have a great product at sea. The warm service and genuine friendliness by the staff and the Yacht Club area itself makes for a great cruise. In addition there is a magaship to explore. Highly recommended.
