The Good, The Bad... the Indifferent
Embarkation: New York (Manhattan)
My mother's request for a wheelchair shaved about 45 minutes from the boarding/check in process. Lines were long but staff did try to move you through efficiently.
New ship = new cabins. I liked our oceanview cabin. Clean, spacious bathroom, nice flat screen (although the channel selections were THE WORSE), plenty of clost storage space. Beds were okay but pillows were too soft for my comfort.
Required about 2 days to explore every part of the ship, this bad boy is HUGE!!
Cruised during Thanksgiving week - more kids on ship than adults. As such, there was the typical blindeye and head turning in efforts to ignore tons of bad behavior from toddlers and teens alike. Really annoying watching parents vacate parental duty. If you are going to do that, then leave your kids home. More
Cirque de Soleil dinner show and Rock of Ages shows were phenomenal. The food was a huge sur prise!!! Delicious! Buffet was quality you'd expect with a couple of hidden gems, main dining was on point. Specialty restaurant favorites were Moderno Brazilian Steakhouse and Tappanyaki Hibatchi... stuffed beyond belief when it was over.
Entertainment by cruise director was standard although i adored Skooter! Simen and Simon were funny but not outstanding.
Rain and winds cancelled Great Stirrup Cay port stop but got an overnight in Nassau Bahamas instead.
Overall a good trip with occassional lapses in quality. Less
