This was our second cruise. First time with Carnival and after seeing on the local news all the troubles with Carnival ships we were a little hesitant to book with them. We found a great cabin ocean view for around $200 per person and were not sure what to expect. First impression of the grand atrium was late 70s Vegas and much smaller than Caribbean Princess (our first cruise).
Our stateroom was clean and in good condition, everything worked. Yes, somewhat outdated but we found the bathroom and shower more specious than on the Princess ship.
We love going to the shows so attended all Carnival Paradise and Caribbean Princess shows. Princess shows more like an actual Broadway production, Carnival more like High School Musical but still good shows. Food: We were a little disappointed in the variety, selection, and quality of the food but dining room service was exelent. We even got a table side magic show one evening. Cruise director Steve was a one man show. Very multi-talented and friendly. My biggest concern was the size of the ship and the windy weather made for an uncomfortable ride. But over all great value!
