Sail Date: Nov 2013

My fiance and I got back yesterday from the November 30th sailing aboard the Carnival Liberty. I've been on many cruises, while this was my fiance's first cruise. Aside from a few short trips to visit family, this was our first cruise together. This cruise was also my first major vacation in over 5 years.

I booked a Category 8A, Cabin 6442, which is an L-shaped cabin with an extra large balcony. The cabin was great. When you walked in there was a narrow hallway with a place to keep your luggage and the cabinets for your clothing. While the cabin did not have a couch, it did have a chair, the balcony was twice the size of a normal balcony and there were 2 chairs, 2 small tables, and a full-size deck lounger. We saw the Category 11 and 12 balconies, and we actually preferred our balcony to the balconies in the suites. We barely heard the Punchliner comedy club below.

After I booked my cruise, I saw and grabbed the Faster to the Fun ("FTTF") package. FTTF was worth every penny. On an itinerary like this one where you have to tender into 2 ports, we never had to wait for a tender. Additionally, we never had priority check-in and did not have to wait in line for Guest Services.
