Ship Facts: Norwegian Sun Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Norwegian Sun Deck Plans
Great Thanksgiving Cruise

Great cruise, perfect weather. Very impressed with cleanliness of the ship and outstanding service by our room steward. Only downside of this cruise was the stateroom - an Aft balcony. These extra cost staterooms provide a panoramic view from the rear of the ship but all that is seen most of the time is the ocean. Soot from the engines landed on the balcony day and night, making it practically unusable. The aft balcony is more exposed than those on the sides so rain is also an issue We encountered more engine noise and vibration in the aft location too. In addition, this stateroom was located on deck 10, just below the outside cafe. The crew pressure washed the deck and moved the tables and chairs around at about 3 am most mornings; making a lot of noise while we were trying to sleep. While NCL compensated us for these concerns, I cannot recommend selecting aft balcony staterooms on this particular ship.

Food/Dining: Extra cost restaurants on this ship were fantastic - excellent food and service. Buffets offered a wide variety of tasty things.

Entertainment: Shows were very entertaining and other game shows and contests were fun.

Ports: St Maarten remains my favorite port - Great Bay has shopping, food, bars, beach and boardwalk close to the piers. Prices in St Maarten were a little less than St Thomas. Aruba and Curacao port area shops were expensive; offered little more to me than attractive colorful buildings and a few interesting sights.
